Al-Hijra (Islamic New Year)

Al-Hijra, or Islamic New Year, marks the beginning of a new year in the Islamic lunar calendar. It commemorates the Hijrah, the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE, which marks the start of the Islamic calendar. Many Muslims observe the day with prayer, reflection, and remembrance rather than large celebrations.
